There's currently a membership drive going on for the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery). If you don't know what the ACM is, it's a professional organization for programming/IT/computer related fields. It's a great resource for everyone, students and professionals alike, and gives you access to thousands of text books, journal articles, and other books as well as thousands of online classes for just about everything you could imagine from programming to building web pages to business skills like building your resume. You also get subscriptions to ACM publications so you stay up to date on current computer industry news. I used the text books and other books so much during my undergrad and a ton of the journal articles during grad school and I'm just now getting into doing the online classes. It looks great on a resume too.

Membership is less than $20 for student memberships and less than $100 for professional memberships. You really can't beat it for all of the great stuff that comes with the membership.

If you're at all interested, please either reply or send me a PM and I'll get you the information to sign up under the membership drive. If you sign up through the membership drive I believe you also get some sort of special sign-up gift as well.

If you want you can PM me your first and last name and email address and I'll send you the info to join up though the membership drive, that way they can keep track of how people are finding out about it and you get your gift (I think it's a cheesy calculator)

I've been in it for about 4 years or so, I just passed my 1 year mark as a professional member and for that they are giving me an Alan Turing coffee mug
